Surf Girl Bracelets

About 25 years ago I decided to make some earrings. I had great fun and they were very popular with friends and family. Five years ago I sold all my remaining beads to a couple of friends who wanted to try making jewellery themselves. I kept all my tools as I thought they may come in handy again one day.  I am so pleased I did because I came across some bead bracelets on Pinterest  which inspired me. 

I bought some sea blue and green beads and memory wire. I already had the cotton and hemp cord and the elastic came with the beads. The theme for these bracelets was Summer Fun. Something to wear on the beach, out shopping or in the evening, when on your Summer Holiday. The lil hemp wish bracelets are perfect for festivals. I shall give them to my daughter and she can share them with her friends. 

This is the first one I made. I could not believe how simple and effective it was. Thanks to my skills in bending wire in the past I had no problems. 

I then made the sliding cord type which I had done before.

Finally came the elasticated one with the little charm. 

I then came across these little mini bead 'wish bracelets' it was so nice to have a challenge and learn new skills. I was surprised how eady they were to do! They certainly looked tricky. Of course watching videos on youtube is always helpful.

I was very pleased to sell 3 different types of bracelets and at the end of last month I donated over £20 to RNLI, my chosen charity on ebay for giving ⚓️ ⛵️ 🏄🏼  A huge thanks to everyone who bought something.

Inspiring Others to Create - Part Two - New Range

When I started this new Venture last month I had no idea how popular it was to be! I am having great fun with it. This month I purchased some new supplies and started putting together some new style packs. I have also made up a couple of 'make your own' Gift Card Kits. 

All my Packs, Kits & Bundles have been Inspired by the Colours of the Seaside. They are designed to be used together or apart, it is up to you!... They mostly contain a mixture of Fabric, Paper, Ribbons & Buttons. They are Perfect for Beginners who do not want to buy large quantities and for people who do not know where to start. They are ideal for small projects such as Cards, Scrapbooks, Journals or sewing small Hearts etc. also for Children under Supervision. They could also be used as Holiday or Rainy Day projects. 

I try to put them all together in a Bag, either A4 or A5 size. Here are a few examples.

Shades of the Sea - Buttons Galore

Blue is my Favourite colour, it always has been. I Love the Blues of the Sea, especially Turquoise, as well as shades of Sea Green with a touch of Purple... I also Love Buttons and I know it is a cliché but my Grandmother really did have a Box of Buttons. I have collected many Buttons over the years, I still have buttons from my Nurse's uniform and Hubby's Police uniform from when we first met over thirty years ago. As well as the colours, I love the feel of them running thru my fingers, like sand on a Beach.

Over the past couple of years, since I started up my page Blue Anchor Bay on Facebook, I have learned how to make Necklaces and Bracelets from Buttons. I Love making them to match different outfits. I have also sold many online, at Fairs and in a shop on the Isle of Wight!..... They have proved very popular. I  decided to make a New Collection now that Autumn is here and I have more free time. I had a Wonderful Summer, out & about, but now I will be spending more time at Home. 

Usually in the Autumn, and run up to the Christmas period, I change my colour scheme to suit the Season. Last year I had a Red & White Scandi theme. This year I have decided to stay with my Beautiful Sea Blues & Greens with a touch of Purple! I am even thinking of using this colour scheme when decorating the house for Christmas!....

My Birthday is in December....21st to be precise. I am not a fan of Christmas, especially when it overshadows my Birthday!....So whilst you are all planning your C Lists and buying Handmade Presents please remember your Friends, Family & Loved ones who also have Birthdays at that time of year!

A present is not just for xmas, it is something to be enjoyed all year round and that includes the Summer!... My Lovingly Handmade Button Necklaces and Bracelets would make Perfect Presents. Please note, my Button Collection is made up of new, used, recycled and vintage buttons, all mixed together.  The necklaces and bracelets all come Giftwrapped in Tissue Paper and are easy to wrap and post. I always use new, handwritten envelopes. If you are posting abroad, please do so in plenty time!....
